Negotiations on export of Fiat automobiles to Russia
Serbia is going to negotiate with the Russian Federation on duty-free export of automobiles made in the plant Fiat Automobili Srbija in Kragujevac, Minister of Economy Mladjan Dinkic announced today.

- Together with President of Serbia Boris Tadic, I will go to Moscow in spring to talk about export of Fiat automobiles - Dinkic said to the press.

According to the Free Trade Agreement between Serbia and Russian Federation, car parts from Serbia can be exported free of duties to the market of Russia, but duty-free export does not apply to complete vehicles.

The plan of Fiat, as Dinkic pointed out, is to purchase 5% of components in Serbia for vehicles produced in all Fiat's plants around the world as of 2013, which would annually bring Serbia a profit worth billions of euros.

Fiat has signed agreements with seven companies in Serbia in the first round of suppliers, and the largest number of them will be situated in the location of Grosnica barracks instead of Korman field.

The military complex on about 30 ha in Grosnica is placed at the disposal of Fiat's partners after last week's agreement between the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Defense.

As Dinkic explained, what is certain at the moment is that Fiat's suppliers in Kragujevac will be the companies Magneti Marelli and Johnson Control.

Benetton signed agreement on opening factory in Nis - Production starts in May
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic and representatives of Benetton and the City of Nis signed an agreement on opening a Benetton factory in this city, which will hire 2,700 workers over the next four years.

The investment is worth €43.2 million, and the state will endorse the project with €9,000 per each new employee.

Following the signing Dinkic said that that was the greatest event for the Serbian textile industry in the last ten years, adding that thanks to that investment the south of Serbia would become the center for that branch of industry.

Benetton will officially become the owner of Nitex in March, and the plan is to launch production in this company in May, he observed.

- The workers of Nitex who want to work and have the skills will get jobs at Benetton, while those who have forgotten to work can count on a social programme - Dinkic explained.

Benetton is purchasing Nis-based Nitex’s assets for €3 million and plans to bring down a half of its halls in order to construct new facilities and procure new equipment, Dinkic said, noting that according to projections, the new factory will produce one million clothing items by the end of the year.

He added that the projected annual turnover at full capacity was €72 million and that the production would be mainly export-oriented.

This way of stimulating investors is very remunerative as the analyses we conducted affirm that the money will be paid off within a year through the payment of tax for employees, Dinkic explained.

Representatives of Benetton announced that they would bring their accompanying suppliers to Nis so that Nitex would once again become the leading textile center in Serbia.

Benetton is a family company founded in 1965 and one of the largest in textile fashion industry, present in 120 countries worldwide.

Their core activity is the production of clothing through brands such as United Colors of Benetton, Sisley and Playlife.

Benetton produces over 150 million pieces of clothing a year and has a network of about 6,000 up-to-date boutiques.
