"I, svakako, očekujemo održanje finansijske discipline u državnim preduzećima", dodao je on.

Uskoro otvaranje biznis čekaonice u beogradskom Aerodromu "Nikola Tesla"

France's EDF to invest in Serbian energy sector
A delegation of the Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) was confirmed at Wednesday's meeting with the representatives of the French power supply company EDF that the company from France, as a new majority owner of Italy Edison, would remain a strategic partner for the construction of two new blocks within Kolubara B Steam Power Plant in Serbia.
EPS Executive Director Bratislav Ceperkovic said after the meeting that "it is the most important news for our country in the past quarter-century when it comes to the energy sector."

In his opinion, what is very important and must always be kept in mind is that EDF's turnover is 40 times bigger than the turnover registered by EPS, that the number of employees of the French company is five times bigger than that of EPS, and that the former's production is almost 35 times larger than the latter's production.

- For Serbia, that project is one of those strategically important for the development of new power generation capacities. Our hosts from Paris are also interested in entering into new strategic partnerships and learning about our capacities and possible investments in our power system - said Ceperkovic.

He stressed that the Wednesday's meeting was the first, preliminary meeting of representatives of EPS and EDF, and representatives of that world's largest public company confirmed their arrival in Belgrade on the highest level in the nearest future.

EDF has recognized EPS as the most significant development and investment partner on the territory of the Western Balkans.

- Serbia has great resources and a large water potential - Ceperkovic said and added that France's renewable energy sector was highly developed.

One of the world's leading renewable energy generators has expressed a wish to join such activities in our country, especially power generation from waste burning, in which this company has a vast experience, said Ceperkovic.

DELEVIC: EU candidate status for Serbia in October 2011
Serbian government’s EU Integration Office Director Milica Delevic expects the European Commission to grant Serbia the EU candidate status on October 12. She added that the start date for the accession talks could be given as well, but with additional requirements.

- Additional conditions could include the continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, which Serbia is already doing - she stated, adding the government insisted on normalizing the relations and carrying on with the dialogue.

Delevic hopes the meeting of the Council of the EU in early December will result in the start date for the accession talks.

- I do not expect a different outcome on October 12, since Serbia has done a lot regarding European integration during the past decade - she remarked speaking at a Raiffeisen Bank business conference.

According to a Reuters report from Tuesday, the European Commission will recommend that Serbia be granted the candidate status, but the start date for the accession negotiations will require progress in the talks with Pristina.

The report states that the start date for the talks will effectively be postponed by one year, which will be needed to allow the European Commission to prepare a report on whether the new condition has been fulfilled.

Business waiting room opens soon at Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade
A 300-square-meter business club is going to be opened soon at Nikola Tesla Airport. This club is furnished and equipped to meet the requirements of large companies such as Aeroflot and Lufthansa, and it will also serve as an exhibition space, thanks to the cooperation between the airport and the Belgrade Cultural Center.

As people at Nikola Tesla Airport told Danas daily, this business club is actually a waiting room for first and business class passengers of all airlines, and it is completely separated and remote from VIP terminal that comprises the famous VIP lounge.

- The most frequent users of VIP terminal are presidents of states, state delegations, diplomatic corps, etc. At the Belgrade airport, VIP terminal is also used to handle business airline passengers, but there is a special waiting room for that purpose within VIP terminal. For such flights, small business planes instead of regular passenger airplanes are usually used - people at Nikola Tesla Airport explained for Danas.

The waiting room for first and business class passengers is intended for persons who travel on regular flights, but enjoy a special treatment on the plane and at departure/arrival airports because they pay a higher price of the ticket. Unlike the passengers who use VIP lounge, these passengers do not require a special security treatment.
