Tigar records growth of production and revenues of 12%
The state secretary at the Ministry of Economy of Serbia, Milun Trivunac, stated during his visit to the company Tigard AD that the Government of Serbia would continue to support the company.

The government agreed on September to convert overdue and unpaid receivables of the state towards the Pirot-based company into a permanent share of the Republic of Serbia and recommended to creditors partly owned by the state to convert their receivables towards Tigar into a permanent share in the entity-s capital. Following the conversion, the state will be the majority owner of Tigar.

– Tigar should be proud of its products. Among our renowned customers are Scandinavian military companies, and our boots are sold in the best stores in Amercia – Trivunac said.

The general manager of Tigar, Branislav Curcic, thanked the Government of Serbia for their decision to turn the debt into capital.

– We are glad that the state has recognized the company-s efforts in the past four years. This stage is envisioned by the Pre-Packaged Reorganization Plan (PPRP), a turning point in the stabilization of the company. I hope that this will serve as a good signal to shareholders, creditors and workers – Curcic said and added that the company was exporting four fifths of its main product, rubber footwear, mostly to the markets on North and West Europe and North America.

The state secretary said to the press that Tigar had a pause in production in early 2013 and that its workers had lost trust at the time. He estimated that “the situation is absolutely different now” as the factory-s operations were stable. In 2015, the factory made RSD 230 million in operating profit. Trivunac said that Tigar-s production and revenues in 2016 had grown by around 12%.
