The Belgrade Stock Exchange JSC Belgrade is a company firstly and fundamentally established in 1894 and was re-established in 1989, as the Yugoslavian Capital Market, based on the foundation of Law on Money and Capital Markets; in the year of 1992, the Belgrade Stock Exchange regained its original name. Working in compliance with all applicable Law’s of the Stock Exchange, stockbrokers, and operations of the stock exchange, which became effective in 1994.
In accordance to the Statute, management of the Belgrade Stock Exchange consists of: Shareholder’s Assemblies, Governing and Superior Councils and Executives.
An Assembly consists of shareholder representatives. Stock Exchange Shareholders can be banks, a postal savings bank, insurance companies, the federal government, and also in reference to the operation of the commodity Exchange, and companies within the scope of selling and manufacturing. On October 1, 2001, the Belgrade Stock Exchange had over forty-eight shareholders: thirty-three banks, ten companies, two insurance companies, one savings bank, United Republic of Yugoslavia and the Republic of Serbia.
