PUTIN: New EUR 1.5 billion investment in NIS soon
In a letter from Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin greeted all participants in the ceremony organized on the occasion of the commissioning of the modernized Pancevo refinery and announced a new EUR 1.5 billion investment in NIS.

Putin said that over EUR 500 million had been invested in the technological renovation of the NIS industrial capacity, whereas the total amount of investments in the development of that company had exceeded EUR 1.5 billion.

- That is only a beginning - another EUR 1.5 billion will be additionally invested as soon as possible - Putin stressed in a letter that was read at the ceremony in the Pancevo refinery.

He pointed out that the joint efforts of the Russian and Serbian sides had turned NIS into a contemporary energy holding in only few years.

NIS commissions renovated Pancevo refinery - Close to EUR 550 million invested in modernization
Prime Minister Ivica Dacic officially commissioned the modernized oil refinery in Pancevo on November 1st.

Dacic said that the modernization of the NIS refinery, which cost €547 million, was one of the major investment projects in Serbia, which would help increase energy security of the country.

The new plant for mild hydrocracking and hydrotreating complex (MHC/DHT), which will allow the production of Euro-5 fuel, was put into operation in the presence of President Tomislav Nikolic, Director General of Gazprom Neft Alexander Dyukov and General Manager of the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) Kirill Kravchenko.

Dacic stressed that the aim of the government of Serbia was to have NIS become the largest company in the Balkans and added that the reconstruction of the refinery in Pancevo showed that Serbia had chosen a reliable partner for NIS.

With the completion of this project, the annual volume of petroleum produced by the highest European standards will be increased to 638,000 tonnes, and of diesel to 1.54 million tonnes.

The Russian company Gazprom Neft, which is the majority owner of NIS, has invested €547 million in Pancevo refinery, of which €397 million was spent on the construction of the hydrocracking complex and about €150 million on the modernisation and construction of industrial infrastructure, refinery, construction of a hydrogen plant and environmental projects.
