"East Media Group" smanjuje vlasništvo u kompaniji "Politika novine i magazini"
Firma "East Media Group" namerava da u dogledno vreme deo svog vlasništva u kompaniji "Politika novine i magazini" (PNM) ustupi "Politici a.d."

Turkey's Jeanci Istanbul to open factory in Novi Pazar as well
Turkey's Jeanci Istanbul, which will soon open a production facility in Leskovac, is also going to open a factory in Novi Pazar this year, Trade Minister Rasim Ljajic said at yesterday's opening ceremony of the second international textile fair Balkan Textile 2013 in that town.

This fair was ceremoniously opened by Ljajic and Turkish Ambassador to Serbia Mehmet Kemal Bozaj.

Balkan Textile, which will be open until March 1st, is organized by the local self-government and Istanbul-based Meridyen fuar in the sports arena Pendik, and this even is an opportunity for textile companies to get familiar with the latest offer in the market, including everything from raw materials to final products.

The fair gathers 28 Turkish manufacturers of textile, canvas and raw materials as well as eight companies from Serbia, with five of them based in the town that hosts this event.

Ljajic also noted that political relations between Serbia and Turkey were good, but that the economic cooperation could be much better.

- I believe that the arrival of Jeanci Istanbul will be a good recommendation for other Turkish companies to come to this town - said Ljajic who was born in Novi Pazar.

This fair is expected to be visited by numerous businessmen from Serbia as well as Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Romania.

CoBe Capital investment fund acquires Gorenje's furniture division
Slovenia's household appliances maker Gorenje said Wednesday that it had sold two of its subsidiaries engaged in furniture manufacture, Gorenje Kuhinje (Gorenje Kitchens) and Gorenje Unutrasnja Oprema (Gorenje Interior Equipment), to the investment fund CoBe Capital, thus abandoning furniture production.

The new owner will continue to produce furniture at facilities in Maribor, Velenje and Nazarje, which employ a total of about 400 workers, Gorenje announced in a release published on the website of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange.

As people at Gorenje stressed, furniture production is not the core activity of this company and has brought nothing but losses over the last three years. The terms of sale negotiated between Gorenje and CoBe Capital have not been unveiled.

CoBe Capital has issued a release saying that they are satisfied with the new acquisition in Slovenia, adding that it should strengthen their production capacity and complement their existing operations in France, Germany and Austria.

- We see tremendous opportunity to grow the furniture division of Gorenje through its quality craftsmanship, design and efficient production facilities offering quite competitive cost structures - said Neal Cohen, CoBe Capital’s founder and managing director.
